Recently got my Corsair to level 40 with a couple of friends who i'm semi-staticing with now whenever we feel like. Also completed COR AF1 for the Trump Gun (which is good stats and looks pretty cool too). Thanks again Kaete for helping. :)

Also NoizyTribe planned a Diabolos run (CoP 3-5 mission, not the avatar quest), and I decided to help with COR. Miros was there too as his WHM. Also there was Langly, Faule, Reynard, and Psylentcuda (I think this was the name).

Things looked weary at first after two deaths but reraise happened and we recovered and finished on our first try. Diabolos really sucks at hitting a NIN with Ninja Roll and Mambo on them.

What else what else..

That's right! In this brief update they have released missions 09 to 18 of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan storyline.

I swear it reminds me of Pirates of the Carribean way to much. (Black Coffin, Black Pearl.. hello!?).

Anyway, Zebix, Vilurum, Darkdrifter, Misi, and myself all started by talking to Najaevilkitty and told us to goto the undersea ruins.

(WARNING: DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

When we arrived, there was the automaton shop galka and taru there, along with some Immortals. The galka gave us more or less a brief history lesson of the place, and then when he told the taru to leave, he revealed the "true" story. There is apparently four Astral Candescences, (or as we like to call them, candycanes). And he asked us to go out in search for them! After I left though, he told the Immortal that the "bell" has been planted. Hmm..

After that happened, we went back to Najaevilkitty, and then farmed for Jody's Acid. That took all of 20 minutes to get 4 of them. Then it was off to Nashmau to fight this NM in a graveyard, who after being defeated, gave us a coin engraved with a dolphin's crest. Apparently it was currency from a nation that was destroyed over 200 years ago.

Reported back to Najaevilkitty, she didn't believe the "ghost story", so we showed her the coin and freaked her out. Then we were sent *back* there to investigate more. We ended up in Arrapago Reef and had a small assault-like BCNM to fight. It wasn't hard at all, we won with no problems. But I swear, Pirates of the Carribean much!? Ghost ship ... dead pirates, a (dead?) ship captain.... the story is shaping up.

After THAT, we reported back to Najaevilkitty and it turns out we were invited to the imperial capital. Naja was jealous cause she never was before apparently! Well as I chose (read: was forced) her to have her as my guest, we went in. The Empress rewarded me with this Glory Crown, and then more or less, that was that.

After we exited the Imperial capital though .....

The bitch took my crown and gave me an Imperial Mythril piece instead.

I hate Naja.

Angon, check.
Deep Breathing, check.

Angon is nice, like tossing a javelin. Weakens defense for a short time, pretty good to use before a WS or something.

Deep Breathing enhances Ember's breath too. For /whm, that would be equivelent to a Divine Seal for Healing Breath. I tested this out and Healing Breath III gave me 429 HP for 15mp, instead of the usual 225-245. Also with a melee sub, breath attacks are more powerful too.

But, something else happened.

The merit update with new spells/abilities cannot hold a candle to the other thing that is occuring for the next few weeks...

Ember Owns You

So I'm in The Shrine of Ru'Avitau with my Sky linkshell Rawr, and we're camping Ullikummi. For those who don't know who he is, he is an NM who drops a stone which is required to pop the god known as Byakko.

Anyway, when we first arrive, I see this emote towards Ember:

Now, with this person being a Galka, I was surprised he was able to find and actually wield the two axes (I'm assuming) that we're in his hands.

(No offense to the Galkas I love; Tenkax, Fluffers, etc)

I, rather, Ember exacted her revenge shortly thereafter.

An Aura Statue aggroed the linkshell that that Galka was in, and unfortunately (read: yay for Ember) he was killed in action.

So, what did Ember do?

She teabagged him.

Well, it's been a rather sad two days so far. Two good friends of mine, Alyada and Gain, must take an extended leave of absense from FFXI due to real life obligations that need to be taken care of. Do not get me wrong, I do want them to be able to get their things straightened out to help live a better life, but I'll miss 'em (Yes, I have feelings!). With those two being gone, Ranphamansuura and myself are left in charge of the linkshell. What will happen to the Sunday night statics, Assaults, and every other fun thing that we do together? Who knows. Maybe when they come back one day we can do all of that again. One can only hope.

Here's to Gain and Alyada;

two of the finest people I have ever known, who would do anything for me, who would always be there for me. We'll all miss you two, I sure as hell hope everything works out and that I'll be able to see you again as soon as possible.

Well, fact is, it probably was.

You see, there are two plains of existence: Reality, and Unreality.

Where we live, is Reality. Everything around us is real, the people we talk to on a day to day basis are real, the food we eat, the games we play, nature, the Earth and everything on it, is real.

However.

There is an alternate "reality", called Unreality.

Now Zebix and I have gone back and forth on the subject (read: "Elei shut the fuck up you're babbling again now don't make me cut you") and we never seem to come to an agreement.

Unreality.. in a sense, is reality.. except not.

You see, in unreality, things are unreally really unreal. Really. It's a bit hard to explain, but i'll try to keep it simple.

Like this reality, where everything is real, unreality holds things to its own where they're unreally real. Unreal, like one would say. You could even think of it as the opposite of reality. (That also brings in the topic of 'Irreality', but that's a whole 'nother story.) Things in unreality don't happen, they unhappen. Like for example, say you were to throw a ball into the air. Naturally when it comes back down, you would catch it, right?

Well in unreality, when the ball is thrown up, it's really thrown down. Then the ball would go up, then down again. Unreally. You'd.. just have to see it for yourself.

How one enters this state of unreality is also questionable. Some say "Black hole." Some say, "Beyond Pluto." And some even say "Alyada's bedroom." No one knows. Not even Aly. That's some serious business when you unreally don't know what's going on.

But all in all, unreality is a place where things are unreally possible.

This party was special because it was going to be the night that Ran would finally hit level 75 on her White Mage. A few battles beforehand, Gain handed out cracker fireworks to everyone, to use when she attained the level cap. It was going to be a nice mini-celebration. And then, it happened:

Death and Vengeance!

Logged on yesterday and right away, I recieved a /tell from my good friend Willian asking to XP, on my Dragoon! So I said sure! Grabbed my hedgehog pie (Best melee attack food, 3hour duration), Sanction, Ember, and we set off. The party was in the Thickets off of Sea Puks. Great XP, but within the first fifteen minutes, I kind of kicked the bucket. So I had to eat a sole sushi to curb my damage(I know what it feels like Gain.) I was asked if I could sub Ninja for shadows, but.. I mean.. c'mon. Yes, /Ninja is nice and all, but /Warrior is much more better suited for actually playing the role of a front line damage dealer. Lucky for me Willian is just made of MP so he saved my face many times. Ended up getting about 17,000~ XP and 2,000~ Imperial Standing. Thanks for that party!

And then later that night, Gain, Vilurum, Darkdrifter, Misi, Zebix and I decided to go KSNM'ing. First one was a Kirin lookalike in the Oracle's Chamber. Think of it as Kirin with perma-blood weapon. He attacked fast and we wiped. Well we decided more or less to "fuck this KS, let's do spiders" in Fei'Yin. The spiders KSNM consists of one big spider to begin with. After you kill that spider, many little spiders pop afterward, and then after those are dead, you win. Zebix used his orb for that, we smited the big spider, smited all the little spiders, and the chest popped. It dropped a Forest Rope (I think..) and a Damascus Ingot (Cha-Ching $$$).

After that KSNM, we decided to do the bees KSNM. This KSNM consisted of one big bee, surrounded by her little bee minions. Oh did I forget to mention that this big bee is a White Mage with Cure V, Pollen, and Benediction? Yeah. We ended up doing this alot:

After doing that two times or so, we did it one more time and won. Gain, Drifter and I smited the big bee really fast and then moved onto the little bees. We learned something: the little bees have either: shared hate, no hate structure whatsoever, or lose hate really fast. When Drifter provoked one little bee, the rest of them woke up shortly after and proceded to kill him dead. In less than three seconds he went from full health to dead. It was sad but at the same time, so freaking funny. The rest of us killed the bees off and the chest popped, and I think a rope of some sort was in there, but they were meh. We each swore never to do that KSNM again.

And the truth of all of this, there's only one person to blame for our misfortune.

Damn you, Ember.

You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet

Remember how I said that I hope Darkdrifter learned how to provoke and cast utsusemi so I could stay as Dragoon for a night? Well, he showed up much later than expected and I was asked to go back to change to Warrior for the night. Alas, Ember will reign down from the fiery heavens next week. We replaced DD with another friend from the linkshell, Gannon, a Dark Knight. Much to our surprise, he eliminated the theory that -all- Dark Knights are emo, (that or he hid it really well), and did greater damage output than expected. I also managed to be the DJ Mix Masta over Ventrilo that night, playing a wide variety of songs from Barbie Girl (German Version), to the Hamster Song, to The Cars. Funny and fun times.

Now, as many of you may (or may not) know, I've decided to finally upgrade my relic lance. Some (if not all) may call me crazy, but it's going to happen. I took a walk up to the Goblin named Switchstix in Castle Zvhal Baileys, for he is known to upgrade such weaponry. He noticed that I had a relic lance on me and this conversation ensued:

Switchstix: Hold it right there, pal! Is that a relic lance you're carrying? The power hidden beneath that worn appearance is making my old Gobbie ears twitch. Trust me, I'm a blacksmith. I don't kid around when it comes to weapons.
Switchstix: Hrmmm. It'd take a lotta work, but I could make that power shine through again. Okay, adventure-boy, you got something to write with?
Switchstix: To reforge the relic lance, I'm gonna need an orichalcum ingot, a spool of Arachne thread, and a piece of lancewood lumber. Yep, that's the bare minimum.
Switchstix: Bring along the relic lance with those three items and I'll get to work for you. I've told you what I need, the rest is up to you.

So I went out to far away lands in search of the items that he had requested. And sure enough, I had acquired the three items he had desired. Along with my relic lance and items, I returned to Switchstix:

Switchstix: You got me what I need? Lemme see here, an orichalcum ingot, a spool of Arachne thread, and a piece of lancewood lumber. Good work. Did I mention that I don't work for free? (Read: Damnit.) I'm gonna need a little something up front--don't trust you sneaky adventurer-types.
Switchstix: Oh, and I got no interest in gil. My fee for this job is 4 Lungo-Nango jadeshells. You people pay each other for stuff all the time, right? Well this ain't no different. You pay my fee, your weapon gets fixed up.

Goodfornothingsonofabitc- oh, er.. right. So he requested these 4 Lunga-Tango jadeback things, okay. Don't know why he just can't accept modern day gil, but no matter. I went out again on a long journey to faraway lands in searach of these Lunga-Tango jadebacks. After finding and acquiring them, I return to Switchstix yet again for his payment:

Switchstix: You brought me my 4 Lungo-Nango jadeshells? Right, time to get to work. My forge is hot and ready to go.
Switchstix: The Goblin way of smithing is a little different from your fancy-schmancy "synthesis." I'm gonna need some time to get this job done. You kept me waiting for the materials I needed, now it's your turn to cool your heels for a while. Fair's fair, right?

So I had to wait, no big deal. I came back the next day:

Switchstix: You can stop your bellyachin' now--I'm done with your relic lance. So what do you think? You ain't gonna see too many weapons of this quality. I can tell you. Be seeing you, adventure boy.

In all seriousness, I'm excited. I'm officially now on stage 2 of 5 on my quest for the Gungnir. It's going to be a very long road that will be very expensive, but it will be done. Mark my words.

ENM's and Limbus weee

Last night Zebix, Vilurum, Gain, Darkdrifter, Alyada, and myself went ENM'ing. First ENM was in Boneyard Gully (Just Gain, Z, Vil, and I) in "Like the Wind." ENM entails an Eft mob that runs.. really really fast. Though it can drop some good money items such as a Maneater axe. However when we went, it only dropped this.. something, or other.. thing.. worthless. That was a bust! But then all of us did the ENM in Bearclaw Pinnacle off of Ule-tab Range. It's a fun mountain climb I must say. The top of the range/entrance toward ENM area looked very nice.

We did the ENM, completed it easily. Gain and I merited and I forget what dropped, I don't think it was worth much. Ah well. The exit area looked very nice as well:

Today was Limbus with CuniLimbus. We did the Apollyon Northwest Route (Aka: Kings Route). Managed to get this nice screenshot of Al'Taieu while on the way there. I must say, Al'Taieu is one of, if not the most pretty looking zones in the entire game.

One of the DRG AF upgrade items dropped and I won that, because who else lots that stuff besides me right!? We completed it, but not without fighting those fun kings. My favorite being the Big Fu^king Dragon which everyone has to stand on his toes for to avoid a Spike Flail or a breath attack.

Wish I could have gotten a better angle, but it was the best I could get.

Tonight is merit static with Aly, Gain, Z, Vil, and Darkdrifter. This week i'm going as Dragoon because I want to test out my new toys(Read: Homam and DRG AF+1 items). I hope DD learned how to cast Utsusemi and how to use Provoke.. else we're all dead.

Good Weekend so Far

Last night was Dynamis-Sandoria with Limitless. It was fun, laggy as usual but fun. NIN AF dropped and went to Agris I believe.. and then a power surge occured, leaving me without power for a good 2-3 hours, yayyy. Ah well, managed to get this nice shot before the zap.

Today I didn't do much on game at all. My friend in real life Sean came over and we went out with two other friends Eirean and Nicole. Went to see 'The Da Vinci Code', which was really good. It does make you think about a whole possible "cover-up" in the Christian religion, but the movie itself was good. Later went to Friendlies, had dinner, good times.

Came home and logged on, checked my delivery box and one of my good friends Darkdrifter sent me a present:

That might not say much that he sent me a knife but we have a long running inside joke that that knife symbolizes. One night during a static party I told him (jokingly, of course) to "Please go swallow a knife and die, I hate you." It's funny, and we say it back and forth, but this I wasn't expecting. Funny and kudos for him to it! I sent it right back to him of course! /wink

CoP Fun!

Vilurum leads a CoP static which includes members from our LS (OwMyface) and Kaizen. Now before this mission took place, one of the members of the static shelters bad feelings towards most of us in the static due to some in-game drama which i'll avoid here. But more or less, to avoid any namecalling(Read: (-_\\\ ), I offered to replace him.

The CoP mission was 5-3 in Boneyard Gully, against the three Shikaree Mithra's X Y and Z. The setup was PLD BLM BLM BLM RDM SMN. Manaburn much? Well, the plan included three Astral Flow blasts, Elemental Sealed Sleepga's, coordinated Freeze spellcasts, and all-out -ga spells. Unfortunately, due to my Comcast connection, I missed the first initial Astral Flow blast when they were gathered and caused a wipe. I felt bad, but was told no worries, and we reraised and won the battle. Congratulations to Alyada and the three people from Kaizen for completeing 5-3.

Now later tonight, I wasn't expecting to do much until Alyada recieved a tell from an old friend(read: retard) who I used to be in a linkshell with. He offered Aly a spot in his Assault static, to which he replied "Already in the best one :D", or something like that. Now I was feeling a bit in an asshole-ish type mood, so I decided to send him a tell! Now to protect his identity, we'll just call him "McDonald's." ENM's and Assault yay

My first official post! This blog will be didicated to the journeys, travels, and experiences that I will encounter along with my friends, my trusty (incarnation of all that is evil) wyvern - Ember, and the mobs we smite.

A few days ago, we decided to do the Bugbear ENM in Mine Shaft #2746, which drops a Gigant Mantle and/or Commander's Cape. In order for us to actually do the ENM though, we needed to farm a rare/ex sylvan stone to participate. Because we had no Thief, we did what anyone in our position would have done: invoked the powers that be.

Now, there are many powers in being. Catch was we had to invoke the right one so we can get a drop. However, we all agreed that no one should invoke Ember, being that she is the incarnation of all that is evil in Vana'diel:

So we started invoking. First lucky invoke went to Vilurum, who invoked Fluffy - the loveable Ul'Yovra(read: huge freakin' UFO) in Al'taieu who "accidently" MPK'd a player while they were AFK. The player will not be named, although it does rhyme with 'Area'. After the invoke of Fluffy, a stone dropped! There was much rejoicing, and we realized we still had two stones to go. It was Zebix's turn to invoke and unfortunately, fortune was not smiling down upon him and his invoke failed. Gain however, invoked the temptation that dwells in each and every one of us, including the Bugbear - the temptation of a PB&J sandwich.

Again, much rejoicing and laughter ensued, followed by the fact we still had to get one more stone. I do not recall who invoked which power that bes(damn you, Ember), but the third stone did drop and we called it a night. The next day we completed the ENM and it dropped a Commander's Cape! 250,000~ gil for everyone!

Last night, Gain, Vil, Aly, Misi, and I did three assaults at the Mamool Ja staging point. Aly's saving up for some cool gloves, and I'm pretty sure the rest of us are just there to make bank. I had enough points for an antivenom earring, which sell for about 1,500,000 gil on the auction house, and it sold! Yay easy money!
